Prayer for Protection During a Storm

Lord God, maker of heaven and earth, we ask for Your protection as this storm passes over us. Keep our home secure, shield our family from flying debris, and guard us against all harm. Calm our racing hearts with the assurance of Your presence. We place our lives, our neighbors, and our community into Your hands, trusting You to bring us safely through the wind and rain. We ask You to preserve the structural strength of our home, shield our roof and windows against falling branches, and hold back lightning and flash flooding from our doorstep. Guard the electrical grid, protect emergency personnel on duty, and keep watch over elderly neighbors who cannot easily move to safety. When thunder rattles our walls and wind roars in the trees, quiet our anxious thoughts. Remind us of Isaiah's promise that You are a refuge in distress and a shelter from the storm. We do not place our confidence in our own walls, but in Your steadfast mercy. Deliver our household from danger, preserve our lives, and grant us a calm morning when the tempest has cleared. Amen.
