Closing Prayer for Family Gathering

Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of our family and for the hours we shared under this roof today. We thank You for the laughter around the table, the stories retold, and the simple comfort of being together again. As we pack our things and go our separate ways, keep each person safe on the journey home. Bless our homes with Your peace, provide for our daily needs, and deepen the affection between us until we see each other again. Keep us mindful of one another throughout the coming weeks, and help us love each other well in both word and deed. Amen.

Lord God, You set people in families, and You gave us this heritage to cherish. Thank You for every relative who made the effort to travel here for this reunion, whether they drove across town or flew across the country. We celebrate the generations represented in this room, from our oldest elders to the youngest children running through the halls. Now that our reunion weekend comes to a close, grant traveling mercies to every branch of our family tree. Watch over the highways, the airports, and every vehicle carrying our loved ones home.
