Rosary Mysteries By Day of the Week
The Catholic Church assigns a set of Rosary Mysteries to each day of the week, so the mysteries you pray today depend on what day it is. On Monday and Saturday, pray the Joyful Mysteries. On Tuesday and Friday, pray the Sorrowful Mysteries.
Wednesday and Sunday are for the Glorious Mysteries, while Thursday is for the Luminous Mysteries, which Pope John Paul II added in 2002. This schedule comes from his apostolic letter, Rosarium Virginis Mariae. It gives Catholics a steady weekly rhythm for meditating on the whole life of Christ.
There are seasonal exceptions for Sundays. During Advent and the Christmas season, Sunday shifts to the Joyful Mysteries. During Lent, it shifts to the Sorrowful Mysteries.
